Rick J. Delanty is a Californian by birth and in spirit, finding in this state a love for nature and wonder of Creation which he has continued to explore in his colorful and expressive oil and acrylic landscape paintings. Rick is a national award-winning artist in plein air competitions around the West, and in exhibitions across the United States, including the California Art Club’s Gold Medal show.
At the end of one’s hike of the Bluff Trail at Montana de Oro State Park, about a half hour inland from San Luis Obispo, there are poppy fields, grass blowing in the sea breezes, and vertical craggy cliffs that characterize the pristine qualities of the Central Coast. The “gold” we found, of course, are the patches of California’s state flower that shimmer amid the green-gray fields. Even the blue of the ocean cannot compete with their magnificently warm colors.
